UP CM Urges Establishment of Innovation Centers in Technical Universities

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath chaired a meeting on the UP Innovation Fund (UPIF), underscoring the need to foster innovation and support startups within the state’s three technical universities. He emphasized the establishment of well-equipped innovation centers in these universities to assist student entrepreneurs in turning their ideas into reality. The Chief Minister highlighted the significance of aligning innovation efforts with rapidly evolving technology and global market trends.

Adityanath proposed the creation of Centres of Excellence in these institutions to spearhead cutting-edge innovations. He assured that the state government would provide the necessary funding to set up innovation hubs in the technical universities. Stressing the financial challenges faced by young innovators, he highlighted the role of universities as facilitators for channeling government funds to empower students and drive entrepreneurship.

The Chief Minister also called for comprehensive global and local market mapping to guide students in developing innovations that cater to contemporary demands. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of integrating the "One District One Product" (ODOP) initiative with modern technological advancements to boost regional trade and development.

To enhance innovation capabilities further, Adityanath directed the universities to collaborate with premier institutions such as IITs. He also instructed officials to draft a detailed implementation plan, ensuring that these measures translate into actionable outcomes that bolster Uttar Pradesh’s position as a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship.
