Jharkhand cabinet approves computer-based education in middle schools

The Jharkhand cabinet under the Gyanodya scheme approved implementing computer–based education in government middle schools besides giving a nod to the health insurance scheme for state employees. The cabinet meeting was chaired by CM Hemant Soren.

"Under the Gyanodya scheme, computer education and computer-based learning will be introduced in government middle schools for Rs 94.95 crore between 2024-25 and 2029-30. The cabinet has approved this proposal," said cabinet secretary Vandana Dadel.

The council of ministers also approved the proposal of implementing a health insurance scheme for state employees, she added.

Eighteen proposals in all were passed by the cabinet, comprising the establishment of a special court at the district judge level in Chatra for expediting cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, of 1985. Also, the approval was provided to offer mobile phones costing up to Rs 25000 to investigation personnel under the Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita 2023.

Computer-based education integrates technology into learning, offering interactive tools and digital resources to enhance student engagement and understanding. It provides access to diverse content, personalized learning paths, and real-time assessments. This approach prepares students for the digital age, fosters critical thinking, and bridges educational gaps, making learning more accessible, efficient, and adaptable to individual needs.
