SPPU Seeks Suggestions For Its Five-Year Education Plan
Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has asked students, parents, industrialists, professionals, and others for ideas on courses and other aspects of university education that might be incorporated into its five-year plan beginning in the academic year 2024-25.
SPPU has jurisdiction over institutes in the districts of Pune, Nashik, and Ahmednagar. According to university administrators, the needs of students in each area may differ in terms of the availability of colleges, courses, and facilities.
The proposals and suggestions can be submitted online through a link on the SPPU's official website. "The purpose of this survey is to gauge what society needs from a university today," said Sanjeev Sonawane, pro-vice-chancellor of the institution. It is no longer a top-down method in which administrators make decisions and students must obey.
People increasingly desire training in areas such as artificial intelligence, analytics, machine learning, and so on. There are digital humanities courses in the arts, and financial risk management courses in business."
"There are many upcoming courses that people want but may not be offered by the affiliated colleges or universities," he continued. We aim to modify that and accommodate their requests."
According to Sonawane, people can also request from the university a course that exists but is not offered at their local colleges, or a course that will provide them with work prospects in a nearby industrial region or IT park.
"All of this will be incorporated into the university's five-year plan, which will be submitted to the government for approval," he added.
