Kotak Education Foundation to Empower Meritorious Girls Students

The Center for Thinking, Language and Communication (CTLC) at Plaksha University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Kotak Education Foundation (KEF), the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) implementing arm of the Kotak Mahindra Group. This collaboration aims to launch impactful training programs to benefit 225 meritorious girl students under the Kotak Kanya Scholarship Program, equipping them with essential life and career skills.

Plaksha’s CTLC is focused on improving communication skills and professional development for students and professionals, with its reach extending beyond the university. Through partnerships with governments, industries, and academic institutions, CTLC seeks to deliver effective training programs that contribute to societal impact.

Dr. Ganesh Raja, CEO of Kotak Education Foundation, emphasized the importance of holistic development for the Kotak Kanya scholars. He remarked, “At Kotak Education Foundation, we believe that empowering young women goes beyond financial aid—it’s about fostering holistic development. Our partnership with Plaksha University is a significant step in this direction, preparing our Kotak Kanya scholars to become confident, capable leaders.”

Dr. Brainerd Prince, Director of CTLC at Plaksha University, underscored the initiative’s goal of empowering women in STEM fields. He said, “Our collaboration with the Kotak Education Foundation represents a significant step toward bridging the gender gap in STEM fields in India. We pride ourselves on offering personalized training to foster a community of innovative leaders and problem solvers.”

The Kotak Kanya Scholarship Program focuses on supporting 225 girl students from financially challenged backgrounds who are pursuing graduation at top-ranked NIRF institutions. In addition to financial support for four to five years, the program emphasizes holistic development through intensive engagement and finishing school activities aimed at preparing these young women for leadership roles.
