IIT-Jodhpur Becomes Second IIT to Offer BTech in Hindi
IIT-Jodhpur has announced that it will offer BTech courses in Hindi starting from the new academic session to support students who struggle with English proficiency. This makes IIT-Jodhpur the second Indian Institute of Technology to introduce Hindi as a medium of instruction for BTech courses, following IIT-BHU.
In an official statement, IIT-Jodhpur mentioned that the Senate had recently approved the proposal to teach courses in both Hindi and English. The decision aligns with the institute's commitment to providing education in the native language, thereby aiding students who face difficulties due to limited English proficiency.
The implementation will begin with teaching BTech first-year courses in both languages. Before classes start, students will indicate their preference for Hindi or English lectures, and two sections will be created accordingly. The same instructor will teach the first-year courses in both sections to maintain consistent teaching standards and rigor.
This initiative aims to ensure that all students, regardless of their English language skills, have equal opportunities to succeed in their studies at IIT-Jodhpur.
