Andhra Pradesh CM seeks Opinion from University Vice Chancellors on Using Emerging Technology into Teaching
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy met with vice-chancellors of the state's institutions to explore the incorporation of emerging technology into the existing curriculum. Recognising the revolutionary impact of emerging technologies on the global education system, the CM solicited the views of the VCs on how the state should respond and adopt modern ways to teaching and learning.
He underlined the need of preparing students in colleges and universities to face future problems and emerge as global leaders.
CM Jagan Mohan Reddy emphasised the importance of technology in education, saying, "The world is currently moving towards the fourth revolution through the use of artificial intelligence." Technology has the capacity to overcome the educational gap, and we must investigate its potential and incorporate it into our educational framework."
Addressing the demographic mismatch and the necessity of knowledge and skill transfer, the CM stressed the need for educational reform. He emphasised that making the necessary changes will provide the desired results and increase the country's ability to lead worldwide."The entire Western world is suffering from a demographic imbalance." Approximately 70% of the people in our country is of working age.
“There is access to global content. For the benefit of our children, we must connect these content to our use and maximize it. The school system is well-established in the western world with countless verticals.
The vice-chancellors of 27 universities who attended the meeting issued a statement proposing the formation of a committee consisting of specialists in emerging technologies and leaders of AI-based start-ups. This committee would recommend the curriculum and establish a timeline for integrating emerging technologies into the syllabus.
