AIIMS Delhi Signs Agreement With SMSIMSR to Collaborate On Healthcare Education
The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (SMSIMSR), India's first free medical college, to collaborate on undergraduate and postgraduate healthcare education. According to a statement, both AIIMS and SMSIMSR will strive to promote and promulgate teaching methodology modules, to work on and facilitate projects of national importance in healthcare services with a special focus on primary healthcare, preventive health, and telemedicine to give combined impetus and augment research and innovation, and to promote and enhance scientific and academic collaboration, training, and interaction in healthcare services and medical education.
"The collaboration between the two institutions will transform good doctors into extraordinary healers," Srinivas remarked. Spirituality and compassion are essential for success in any field." Madhusudan Sai emphasised the need of "competence and compassion in healthcare." There is a critical need to instill values in healthcare, particularly compassion, service, sacrifice, respect for colleagues, and respect for patients who visit the hospital." On March 25, Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially opened SMSIMSR, a Rs 400 crore medical college in Muddenahalli, Karnataka.
