The Management of the Institute is in the hands of a Board of Governors, consisting of representatives of the Jesuit Society, Government of India, Government of Odisha, and eminent industrialists and educationists. The institute's focus has always been to recruit high quality people and enable them to perform at their best. The admission process for the XIMB constitutes of various arduous steps, which an aspirant has to undergo before the final selection. The applicants have to appear for either the XAT (XLRI Admission Test) or CAT (Common Admission Test).The students with exceptional performance in all the sections are short-listed for subsequent rounds comprising of Group Discussion followed by a Personal Interview. Final selection is made based on the performance in the Written Test, Group Discussion, and Personal Interview along with Past Academic Performance and relevant Work Experience.
