Nurturing Next Generation Leaders through Innovative Learning Techniques
BML Munjal University (BMU) founded by The Hero Group and mentored by the 108-year- old Imperial College London, envisions to create a world class university with the objective of transforming higher education in India by building an innovative teaching and learning environment that nurtures future leaders and entrepreneurs. The governing body of BMU comprises CEOs of global and Indian corporate houses and thought leaders of India. The pedagogy at BMU emphasizes interdisciplinary, experiential and immersive learning which is intertwined with teaching, learning and research from the very first year through several industry-academic and international linkages. The curriculum at BMU is designed around 60-65 percent theory based learning and over 35 percent of experiential-learning. The curriculum structure includes 'skill' and 'perspective' courses which enable students to acquire a vast array of life skills such as critical thinking, ethics, negotiation and conflict resolution. Students also have the opportunity to gain international exposure by being a part of the Global Leadership Module.

BMU follows a unique academic structure which is extremely student oriented. It provides students the opportunity to learn at their own pace, add to their existing skill set and even apply for a dual degree. The flexible academic structure encourages students to broaden their learning horizons and enhances their employability quotient. Students also have the option to choose from a wide range of electives which complement their core courses. BMU's academic collaborations involve Imperial College London, HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management, Germany, Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland, and the University of CUOA, Italy.
Industry - Centric Outlook
The University has collaborated with industry leaders across various categories to establish Centers of Excellence and Workshops of the Future. These centers will facilitate the enhancement of lab infrastructure at BMU, conduct industry-relevant R&D, training and certifying of students in employability skills, and serve as a technical knowledge resource for BMU. Apart from these functions these centers will also conduct industry seminars, internship programs, industry projects, industry visits and career counseling. BMU's industry collaborations include IBM, KPMG, Axis Bank, Shell, Siemens and Hero MotoCorp.
Strong Research Orientation
The education process at BMU is based upon the 5I system. Students are exposed to state-of-the-art and cutting edge information. Their understanding of it leads to Inquiry and, therefore, Inspiration to ideate or innovate. BMU then provides ample scope for Implementation of their ideas, through state-of-the-art labs, 6 interdisciplinary R&D centers and Industry partnered labs, in order to create a positive Impact on society for the "Make in India" initiative and nurture entrepreneurs over the next 15 to 50 months.
The six interdisciplinary Centers focus on knowledge creation, comprehension and working with MSME & MNCs for both incremental innovation & disruptive technology based on sustainability and inclusive innovation. The interdisciplinary centers and labs are to work closely with the Institute of Inclusive Innovation (I3) to transform society through relevant research for high impact growth and development at the grassroots level. R&D institutes currently engaged with BMU include Fraunhofer Gessellschaft, CEERI-Pilani, CSIO – Chandigarh, CBRI – Roorkee and NPL – New Delhi.

Campus of the Future
The BMU campus houses 800 students and thrives with various activities such as workshops, art events, plays, and cultural programs. On campus cultural activities are organized at BMU where students experience cultural performances on classical dance, music and theatre by eminent artists. The campus also hosts a "Leadership Series" where students get a chance to meet and be inspired by leaders from different walks of life including industry, R&D and academic institutes, NGO's, Arts and Cultural domain, diplomats and other thought leaders in public life.
BMU commenced its operations in August 2014 and currently offers undergraduate, graduate and PhD programs in Engineering, Management and Commerce. In the span of next 5 years, the university is expected to introduce courses on Law, Design and Architecture, Liberal Arts and Science. Student selection process at BMU depends upon performance in national entrance exams such as JEE and CAT, grades in the qualifying examination, an essay, an interview, and an institutional process of assessment, to judge their aptitude for the program of their choice.
