IGNOU Launches MBA in Health Care and Hospital Management
The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has recently launched a new program titled Master of Business Administration in Health Care and Hospital Management. This program is aimed at graduates who have achieved at least 50% marks (45% for reserved categories) and seeks to prepare a skilled workforce for employment in healthcare institutions across both private and public sectors.
The initiative aims to bolster the healthcare sector by ensuring the availability of capable professionals nationwide, even in remote areas. Upon completion of the program, students will be equipped to take up managerial and administrative roles in healthcare settings and related organizations.
The program spans four semesters and comprises 112 credits. The first two semesters consist of seven core courses each, with each course carrying four credits. The third and fourth semesters focus on specialized courses. In the third semester, students are required to undertake a practical course where they will gain hands-on experience in hospitals or other healthcare institutions. Additionally, they must complete a project during this semester.
Furthermore, the program mandates a three-month internship in a healthcare-associated institution or hospital of the student's choice, identified by them to further enhance their practical skills and industry exposure.
Financially, students are required to pay semester-wise fees as follows: Rs 15,500 for the 1st and 2nd semesters, Rs 19,500 for the 3rd semester, and Rs 17,500 for the 4th semester.
This comprehensive program not only aims to educate but also to empower future leaders in healthcare management, ensuring they are well-prepared to meet the evolving challenges and demands of the industry.
