Three New IIITs In Public-Private Partnership Mode to Be Set Up in Uttarakhand, Declares Union Education Minister
Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal recently announced that three new Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) will be established in Uttarakhand after conducting a meeting with Uttarakhand higher education minister Dhan Singh Rawat. Determined to improve the education sector of the country by ensuring students with top-notch education and training, the education minister also talked about opening the new Indian Institute of Science Education and Research in the state of Uttarakhand. During his meeting with Dhan Singh Rawat, the Union Education Minister also discussed the various angles which need to be emphasized to improve the quality of the current education standard of Uttarakhand.
“We will soon open three IIITs in public-private partnership mode in Dehradun, Udham Singh Nagar, and Haridwar. The state government should also give us suggestions for the establishment of IISER in the state. The Ministry of Education will release grants for setting up these institutes at the earliest,” said Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal.
Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal along with Uttarakhand higher education minister Dhan Singh Rawat discussed various factors regarding the setting up of facilities to help the students of the state to gain a quality education. During the meeting, the education minister also announced that the state government of Uttarakhand has been asked to focus on women empowerment through setting up of educational facilities in hilly areas.
He further asked the Uttarakhand government to submit a proposal regarding the setting up of higher educational facilities for girls in hilly and higher altitude areas.
“In this proposal, the state government can give its three-four priorities keeping in view the Himalayan, backward, and remote areas, where the central government will start higher education facilities for girls. Such projects can provide better solutions towards women empowerment in the future,” Ramesh Pokhriyal stated.
The Union Education Minister will also conduct a live session on December 10, interacting with students from across the country. The objective of the live session s to seek advice from students regarding the conduction of 2021 board exams and competitive exams.
