VIT-AP University announces merit scholarships

For undergraduate and postgraduate non-engineering programs, the Vellore Institute of Technology Andhra Pradesh (VIT-AP) University has announced merit-based scholarships. Beginning with the academic year 2022–2023, the university will provide GV Merit Scholarships and Rajeswari Ammal Merit Scholarships to students enrolling in undergraduate and graduate programs, including BBA, BCom, law, BSc, and BA. The official website for the scholarship is vitap.ac.in, where qualified students can apply. The deadline for applications is July 31.

Dr SV Kota Reddy, Vice Chancellor, VIT-AP explained that the GV Merit Scholarship is for any board topper across the country. Under this scholarship, the admitted candidate will get 100% scholarship for all years of the UG programme.

The VC also informed that the eligibility criteria to avail Rajeswari Ammal merit scholarship includes that the candidate must be a district topper from any state across the country. The admitted candidate is eligible for a 50% scholarship on the tuition fee for all the years of the degree programme. If the district topper is a girl, she will get an additional 25% scholarship making it 75% scholarship, he explained. Dr Jagadish Chandra Muduganti, Registrar, VIT-AP said that the PG merit scholarship is available for all pg programmes. Under the scholarship, those students will get 100% scholarship who have secured CGPA of 9.0 or 90% or above (whichever is applicable) in the qualifying UG examination. Students who have secured CGPA of 8.0 or 80% or above (whichever is applicable) in the qualifying UG examination will get 50% scholarship. Under this category, an additional 25% of scholarship will be given for a girl candidate making it 75% scholarship.
