Russia's St. Petersburg University to Form Ties with Indian Universities

The strategic partnership between Russia and India encompasses various domains, including education, culture, and science. These collaborations foster friendly relations and mutual understanding between the two nations.

Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University (SPbPU) plays a crucial role in this partnership by establishing strong ties with leading Indian universities. Since the inception of the Russian-Indian Network of Institutions of Higher Education in 2015, SPbPU has developed fruitful partnerships with prominent Indian institutions such as the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), Bombay, Roorkee, and Madras, as well as Chandigarh University, among others.

Joint projects between SPbPU and Indian universities span diverse fields, including materials science, nanotechnology, information technology, agriculture, ecology, and biotechnology. These collaborations aim to address relevant challenges and contribute to technological advancements. For instance, researchers from SPbPU are engaged in projects involving the development of semiconductor devices for power electronics, modern diamond processing technologies, and research on agricultural crop domestication, all of which are pertinent to India's needs.

SPbPU actively promotes cooperation with Indian universities in higher education through various programs ranging from bachelor's to master's degrees, academic mobility, and additional professional education. The university has welcomed distinguished professors from Indian universities to lecture at SPbPU, and numerous Indian students have pursued higher education at the university, further enhancing academic exchanges.
