Renmin University of China collaborates with Hong Kong Education Sector

Another step toward deeper educational ties between the Chinese mainland and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region was taken Tuesday when Renmin University of China and the Education University of Hong Kong signed a cooperation framework agreement to create joint student programs and develop professionals who can adapt to technological advancements.

The cooperation states that the two universities will start collaborative Integrated Programme for student training and exchanges as well as encourage academic visits. Additionally, they will make use of RUC's research facility in Shenzhen to improve EdUHK students' comprehension of the nation's progress.

The organizations intend to work together to create a platform to promote Chinese culture and to develop training programs for basic education instructors. Renmin University of China has partnered with six Hong Kong institutions, including the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the University of Hong Kong, in addition to EdUHK. In an interview with China Daily, Zhang Donggang, RUC’s Party secretary said the university will increase cooperation with academia and the technology sector in Hong Kong, and speed up the establishment of its research institutes in Hong Kong and Macao.

These institutes will foster interdisciplinary collaboration in addition to nurturing talent for the development of intelligent technologies and solving future challenges. They will also help deepen academic exchanges and facilitate joint student training programs by leveraging talent initiatives such as Hong Kong’s Top Talent Pass Scheme (TTPS).
