Lupin & Birmingham City Univ. Honor Diabetes Care Graduates
Global pharma major Lupin Limited (Lupin) joined forces with Birmingham City University, UK (BCU). It hosted a convocation ceremony on March 9, 2024, honoring Indian healthcare professionals who completed the Master’s program in Advancing Diabetes Care.
This ground-breaking course is tailored to empower healthcare professionals with specialized skills and techniques to provide enhanced care for people with diabetes.
Under the distinguished patronage of Harjinder Singh Kang, the British Deputy High Commissioner in Mumbai, Professor Wasim Hanif, medical director for advancing diabetes care, BCU, and Rajeev Sibal, president – of India regions formulations, Lupin, the ceremony attracted a gathering of eminent delegates and dignitaries from BCU.
Among the esteemed attendees were Professor Maxine Lintern, Deputy Dean of Health and Life Sciences; David Waters, Head of Internationalization; Claire J Roberts, Head of Department; Professor Anne Phillips, Programme Lead for Advancing Diabetes Care; Martha Stewart, Deputy Programme Lead for Advancing Diabetes Care; Jayne Robbie, Senior Lecturer in Advancing Diabetes Care and Peripheral Vascular Disease.
The Advancing Diabetes Care program is an exclusive online course to further research and development, equipping healthcare professionals with a profound understanding of the intricacies associated with diabetes management.
By fostering customized self-management practices, the program empowers healthcare professionals, from GPs to pharmacists, to provide optimal patient care. Launched in 2020 as an academic partnership between Lupin and BCU, this initiative addresses the escalating prevalence of diabetes in India.
