JMI University Taking Applications for One-Year Urdu Course
Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) invites applications for a one-year Urdu course in Hindi or English. Classes are taught at the Center for Distance and Online Education (CDOE), and enrollment is open year-round. The registration fee (within India) is Rs.500, US$20 for foreigners (SAARC countries) and US$50 for other countries. No tuition fees.
Admission forms and details can be obtained from the office of the Director, Urdu Correspondence Course, Center for Distance and Online Education, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi-110025 by sending a 24 × 12 cm envelope fixed at Rs. 10 headers.
Meanwhile, Jamia Millia Islamia has announced that it will introduce a four-year undergraduate program (FYUP) with admission and graduation options from the next phase. This move aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP), 2020.
The NEP 2020 is founded on the five guiding pillars of Access, Equity, Quality, Affordability and Accountability. It will prepare our youth to meet the diverse national and global challenges of the present and the future.
It puts forward many policy changes regarding teachers and teacher education. To become a teacher, a 4-year Bachelor of Education will be the minimum requirement needed by 2030. The teacher recruitment process will also be strengthened and made transparent.
