IITGN and AIT to Open Applications for Double Degree

The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) in India and the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Thailand will open their virtual doors to applicants aspiring for the AIT-IITGN Double Degree Programme on 12 March 2025. The application will reside on the official webpage. The last date to submit the application is 16 April 2025.

The AIT-IITGN Double Degree Master's Program represents a great chance to earn an MTech degree from IITGN and a Master's degree from AIT. There will be seven branches of study to this unique degree program: Medical Engineering, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Environmental Engineering and Management, Geotechnical Engineering, Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems, Sustainable Energy, and Water Engineering and Management.

Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria for admission into both institutes of AIT and IITGN. The institute that grants admission to a candidate will function as the first point of contact in case of any queries.

To be eligible for IITGN, candidates must have a minimum of 55% for their BE, BTech, four-year BS, MSc, or equivalent degrees. For SC, ST, and PwD candidates, the minimum requirement is 50%.

To be eligible for AIT, applicants must have a four-year bachelor's degree with a minimum CGPA of 2.75/4.0 and an English proficiency score from IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, or AIT-EET. While IITGN has no English testing requirement, AIT has one. Indian candidates can take the AIT-EET online prior to starting the application process, and they must obtain a minimum score of 6.0.

Students will commence their study at their admitting institute. Those starting at AIT will complete two semesters at AIT and then two semesters at IITGN. Conversely, students starting up at IITGN will spend two semesters at IITGN and then move to AIT for the remaining two semesters.

With admission, the student will also automatically get enrolled at the partner institute without any other formalities. Each student will be having faculty advisors both at IITGN.
