IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation, in partnership with SWAYAM Plus, has introduced short-term training programs in the semiconductor industry for students pursuing degrees in electronics, electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing disciplines. The courses offered include:

1. Comprehensive Electronics and Embedded Systems

2. Comprehensive Electronics and Advanced Embedded Technology with IoT

3. Advanced Electronic Manufacturing with Power Electronics Fundamentals

4. Digital Manufacturing Practice

These programs aim to bridge the gap between theoretical concepts in engineering courses and the practical skills needed in the industry. As explained by R. Sarathi, dean (planning) at IIT Madras, these initiatives respond to a noticeable skill gap between academic engineering curricula and industry requirements.

The courses, delivered on-campus at technical univresity by subject experts, will include hands-on training to ensure that students are industry-ready. Placement assistance will be provided for high-performing students, enhancing their employability in the semiconductor and electronics sectors. Participants will receive a certificate issued by SWAYAM Plus, in collaboration with IIT Madras and IITM Pravartak.

This initiative is expected to motivate students and industry partners to pursue careers in electronics, addressing key scientific and societal challenges, and promoting sustainable growth.
