IIT Delhi Introduces New Course in Hybrid Electric Vehicle Design

Numerous students aspire to attend the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), but only a small number achieve this goal by succeeding in the JEE exam post Class 12 or the GATE exam post graduation. Traditionally, it has been impossible to gain admission to an IIT without passing one of these two exams. Nevertheless, a new route to gaining admission to IIT without the need for these entrance exams has emerged.

IIT Delhi has launched a new certification program in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) Design. This specialized certificate program is designed for engineers in mechanical, electrical, automotive, and similar industries. The program is scheduled to start on September 29.

Individuals applying for IIT Delhi's latest certification course in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) Design need to possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive, or related areas. In addition, individuals with a diploma from an accredited university (10+2+3) can apply.

The cost of the HEV Design certificate programme at IIT Delhi is Rs 1,10,000 in addition to GST. In order to obtain a certificate of completion from the Continuing Education Programme (CEP) at IIT Delhi, students need to meet a minimum grade of 50% and uphold a attendance rate of at least 50% during the entire programme.

IIT Delhi's Certificate Programme will cover crucial topics to address the skills gap in India's electric vehicle market and meet the increasing demand in the industry. Some of these are thermodynamics, internal combustion engines, electric machines and drives, power electronics, automotive hybridization, and battery design and modeling.
