IIM Bangalore to Introduce Program in Financial Planning

The Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB), has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with FPSB India, a financial planning standards board, to introduce an executive education program in financial planning.

This collaboration aims to enrich the landscape of financial education and professional development in India. The executive education program will be tailored for both working professionals and students to meet the increasing demand for advanced financial planning education. Leveraging the expertise of both institutions, the program will deliver comprehensive learning experiences to address the evolving needs of the industry.

The partnership between IIM Bangalore and FPSB India will extend beyond the executive education program. It will include joint events such as workshops, seminars, and conferences to facilitate knowledge exchange and networking opportunities for professionals and students. Additionally, initiatives will be undertaken to promote financial literacy, advance research, and address the evolving requirements of the personal finance sector.

As part of the collaboration, FPSB India will offer five scholarship programs based on merit. These scholarships aim to empower deserving candidates with the necessary skill sets, knowledge, and certifications required for a successful career as certified financial planner professionals.

Professor Rishikesha T Krishnan, Director of IIM Bangalore, expressed satisfaction with the partnership, highlighting the shared mission of bridging the gap between academia and industry in the field of personal finance. He emphasized the commitment to leveraging combined expertise to equip future finance professionals with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in today's dynamic business environment.
