IIM Bangalore has introduced a fresh course titled 'New Age Business Models' through IIMBx, its digital learning platform. This six-week online program, available on SWAYAM, the Ministry of Education's online learning platform, is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive insight into contemporary business models.

The course, catering to undergraduate and postgraduate students in business management, as well as professionals, aspiring entrepreneurs, and business owners, is offered at no cost, as stated in the official announcement.

Crafted by Professor K Ganesh, an adjunct faculty member at IIMB and an accomplished entrepreneur known for founding and successfully exiting four ventures – BigBasket, Tutorvista, Portea, and Bluestone, the course offers valuable insights. Professor Ganesh is also the founder and partner at GrowthStory, a prominent venture builder platform dedicated to incubating and fostering new ventures and entrepreneurs. The course is set to commence on January 29, 2024, and the enrollment deadline is February 29, 2024, according to the official release.

It covers emerging new business models, including platforms, marketplaces, aggregators and D2C (Direct-To-Consumer) businesses. There are lectures by industry leaders such as Shekar Sharma, founder and CEO of Paytm; Ananth Narayan, CEO and founder of Mensa Brands; Arun Narayan, Vice President, Tanishq; and Vikram Vaidyanathan, Managing Partner, Matrix Partners, amongst others. The pedagogy is a combination of video lectures, case studies, quizzes, self-assessments, and discussion forums and will help learners understand nuances about business models and how new-age companies operate and succeed.
