IIIT Hyderabad launches online course on AI for medical professionals
IIITH has introduced an online program on 'AI for Medical Professionals', in partnership with NAMS, a government organization under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, and IHub-Data. The online orientation course on AI for Medical Professionals, lasting 12 weeks, will provide medical professionals with the necessary skills to comprehend, assess, and utilize AI technologies in clinical environments, enhancing patient care and operational effectiveness.
The content includes theoretical explanations as well as practical guidance on AI, machine learning, deep learning, and real-life examples in medical contexts such as screening, diagnosis, prognosis, and patient care.
Attendees will also examine ethical and governance concerns related to the utilization of AI tools and methods. The course offers certification after completing quizzes, assignments, and assessments, with video lectures, weekly sessions, and case studies provided.
Approximately 200 medical experts, including experienced faculty and researchers from top medical schools, holding postgraduate qualifications in 41 different fields, are involved in the program across 24 states and 56 cities nationwide. Distinguished mentors from IIITH and NAMS are participating in teaching this course.
