IGNOU Permits Provisional Admissions for July Session; Eligibility Details here

The Indira Gandhi National Open University, IGNOU would allow provisional admission for students seeking admission in the July session due to situation caused due to COVID-19. The varsity has delivered a press statement that the students would be given admissions without producig the results of qualifying assessments, this year.

According to the university’s press release, “The examination process of all educational institutions has been affected and the declaration of result has been delayed. As a result of this, students aspiring to join higher education are not able to produce the results of their qualifying examinations.” IGNOU is giving the students time till December 31 to submit their relevant documents failing which their admission will stand cancelled.

The students who wish to pursue courses from the IGNOU need to fulfil certain criteria, released by the university. For undergraduate, UG programmes, the candidates need to submit the documents verifying their appearance plus 2 exams. For postgraduate, PG courses, the students are required to submit the 2nd year/ 5th semester pass certificate of the Bachelor degree programmes.

The understudies who wish to seek after courses from the IGNOU need to fulfil certain rules, delivered by the university. For undergrad, UG programs, the candidates need to present the documents checking their appearance in plus 2 examinations. For postgraduate, PG courses, the students are needed to submit the 2nd year/5th semester pass certification of the Bachelor degree programs.

IGNOU Admissions 2020: Eligibility Details 

As per the release, it was further stated, “to provide relief to such applicants in keeping with the guidelines issued by the University Grants Commission, IGNOU shall grant Provisional Admission to aspiring students subject to the following conditions” –

Applicants of Programmes for which eligibility requirement is 10+2 or the equivalent exam have appeared in the 10+2/ equivalent examination conducted by the respective School Board in 2020, with their results awaited.

All applicants who are provided Provisional Admissions would be required to submit the pass certificate of the qualifying examination latest by 31st December 2020, failing which their admission shall be cancelled and the fee shall be refunded as per rules.

Applicants of Programmes for which eligibility requirement for admission is a Bachelor degree, have passed the 2nd year/5th semester of the Bachelor Degree and submitted the marks sheet in support of it.
