IGNOU Launches MBA Study Material in Odia
IGNOU in a groundbreaking attempt for making higher education more accessible as well as inclusive has launched the study materials of MBA course in Odia language. This launch occurred on 21st January with the Union Education Minister officiating the event. It is an initiative inline with NEP that emphasizes the significance of imparting education in regional languages.
"Learning in one's native language fosters deeper comprehension and helps students engage more effectively with complex concepts," remarked Pradhan. During the ceremony the Minister expressed his appreciation for the efforts of IGNOU in expanding access to quality higher education across India and specifically in remote locations. He also stated that offering education in one’s mother tongue not only facilitates better understanding but it also helps in promoting innovative thinking.
He also clarified that promoting education in regional languages does not diminish the significance of English or any other language but it enriches the educational experience and also ensures that language diversity is being celebrated within the educational system.
He stated, "Odisha is working towards implementing various aspects of the National Education Policy 2020, with the provision of education in Mother Tongue being a key element." The minister commended IGNOU’s efforts in expanding higher education across the country, regardless of caste, creed, region, gender, or age. He highlighted IGNOU’s potential to provide higher education to a diverse population in Odisha, including both youth and working professionals, irrespective of their background.
