Hindu College to introduce inter-disciplinary research centre
In order to encourage cross-disciplinary research, Hindu College in Delhi will open its Relaxo research centre. In accordance with the national educational policy (NEP) 2020, the college has built a specialised, 38,000 square foot state-of-the-art research facility. It has resources including language, social science, and scientific labs, as well as a 250-seat auditorium and accommodations for adjunct instructors.
The centre aims to promote research with designated laboratories in chemistry, fragrances, life sciences, gender studies and history such as synthesis lab for life sciences, cell culture research lab, polymer research lab and a design and innovation lab.
The inauguration will be held at the Hindu college campus at 11 am and will be attended by University of Delhi's vice-chancellor Yogesh Singh. The special guests of honour for the inauguration ceremony are Relaxo Footwears Ltd, managing director, Ramesh Kumar Dua and National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC), chairman and managing director, P K Gupta.
Recently, Delhi University announced its plans to launch a research centre to promote the study of India's freedom movement and partition. For this, the university has established a seven-member committee headed by DU director (South Campus) Prakash Singh, to provide suggestions to develop the centre.
