CUET UG 2024: 46 Central Universities Register, UGC Chairman Reports

The Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC), Mamidala Kumar, recently revealed the number of universities registered to incorporate Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG scores for undergraduate admissions.

According to Kumar, 46 central universities, 32 state universities, and 20 deemed-to-be-universities have registered to utilize CUET UG scores for admission into their undergraduate programs. Ninety-eight private universities and six government institutions have also enrolled this year.

As per the initial schedule, CUET UG is set to take place from May 15 to May 31, 2024. Despite the Lok Sabha election schedule, there is no intention to change the exam dates.

Earlier this month, the UGC Chairman announced that the datasheet for CUET UG would be published after registration. He also stated that the exam dates might be subject to change based on the schedule of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

Kumar further outlined the measures implemented by the higher education regulator in the country to facilitate the Common University Entrance Test for Undergraduates (CUET UG) 2024

To improve the overall testing experience for CUET UG 2024 candidates, adjustments have been implemented, including moderating the difficulty level of the entrance exam, enhancing accessibility, and minimizing logistical challenges. These measures are aimed at creating a stress-free testing environment.
