The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has recently communicated with the principals of its affiliated schools regarding the availability of online courses for Class 11 and 12 offered by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) on the Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds (SWAYAM) platform.

SWAYAM, an initiative by the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India, provides Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) aimed at enriching learning opportunities for students.

NCERT has curated online courses for Classes 11 and 12 across various subjects on the SWAYAM portal, accessible in multiple cycles.

In the 13th cycle, NCERT is offering 28 online courses for Classes 11 and 12, covering 11 subjects including Accountancy, Business Studies, Biology, Chemistry, Economics, Geography, Mathematics, Physics, Psychology, English, and Sociology.

These courses are available from April 22 to September 30, 2024. Registration for the courses is currently open and will remain so until September 1, 2024.

The courses available on SWAYAM MOOCs are interactive and carefully designed by some of the country's most esteemed educators. Moreover, these programs are accessible for FREE to all learners.

The courses featured on SWAYAM are structured into four key quadrants:

1. Video Lectures: Engaging video presentations aimed at facilitating effective learning.
2. Specially Crafted Reading Material: Materials that can be conveniently downloaded and printed, allowing for accessibility to offline learning.
3. Self-Assessment Tools: Students can assess their understanding through self-assessment tests and quizzes.
4. Online Discussion Forums: A platform for students to seek clarification from mentors, engage in discussions, and address doubts with their peers, thereby fostering interactive learning.

NCERT is dedicated to reaching students through these courses, enhancing their learning experiences, and ultimately helping them achieve their desired learning outcomes.
