BHU launches Annie Besant fellowship
Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has introduced a brand-new initiative called the Annie Besant Fellowship to entice its top students to enrol in PhD programmes at BHU immediately following the completion of their postgraduate degree. The programme run by the Institution of Eminence-BHU initiated the scheme. The application period for the fellowship has begun at BHU, and it ends on August 5. By the middle of September, the university hopes to award the Annie Besant Fellowship for the current session.
The scheme will enable students who have excelled in their academics at BHU, join the PhD programme directly after post graduation without losing any time in transition from PG to PhD. Such students will also be able to complete their PhD work faster than the other students.

Professor Rakesh Pandey, Department of Psychology, Professor Sangeeta Pandit, Department of Vocal Music, and Professor Ajay Kumar, Department of Physics are the members of the committee.
