Australia Requires Confirmation of Enrollment for Student Visa Applications

The Australian Department of Home Affairs has officially announced that Letters of Offers from students wishing to study in the country will no longer be accepted for processing student visas.“??From 1 January 2025, the Department of Home Affairs will no longer accept Letters of Offers from individuals applying in Australia for a Student visa. Onshore applicants will be required to include a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) at the time of application,” mentioned the notice.

There is no change to the alternative forms of evidence of the intended course of study for Foreign Affairs, Defence or secondary exchange students. Applicants who send in their applications on or after 1 January 2025 must include a Confirmation of Enrollment when applying. Visa applications submitted prior to that date that rely solely on a Letter of Offer from an educational institution are unaffected by this alteration.

According to the official site, failing to submit a CoE during the application process will result in an invalid application. Visa decision makers are unable to evaluate an invalid application. A connected Bridging visa cannot be issued if the main visa application lacks validity. Submitting a CoE during the visa application indicates a greater dedication from the student to pursue studies at that educational institution, stated the official notice.
