Overview
It is a well-known fact that China is the most populous country sheltering nearly 1.4 billion residents. However, it is a lesser-known fact that China has one of the well structured higher education systems in the world. The country has approx 38 million students studying in its universities. Being a popular Asian country, this huge number is made up of students coming from different parts of the world. From Asia, around 60 percent of students select Chinese universities. This is followed by students coming from Europe and Africa. The United States also contributes significantly to this number. Why is it so? It is because the higher education centers have nearly 2,000 universities and colleges, imparting globally recognized Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral degree courses. The international students are also eligible to study non-degree programs.
