University of Houston partners with Delhi Technological University

The University of Houston (UH) has formally established a Memorandum of Understanding with Delhi Technological University (DTU), located in the capital city of India, Delhi. The memorandum will be in effect for five years and will be eligible for renewal in 2030. Under the terms of the partnership, UH and DTU will work closely on educational and research activity, including opportunities for both universities to exchange visiting scholars to engage in research and scholarly exchanges in the form of research papers, theses, and books and magazines. Additionally, there will be opportunities for students to engage in paid internships and co-ops through opportunities facilitated by the host university.

The partnership agreement was signed on March 20, 2023 by UH Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost Diane Z. Chase, UH Cullen College of Engineering Dean Pradeep Sharma, DTU Vice Chancellor Prateek Sharma and DTU Dean of International Affairs Pravir Kumar.

“The University of Houston collaborates with top institutions around the globe, and DTU is no exception,” Chase said. “This partnership is a win-win opportunity for both universities and the communities they serve. I look forward to a long, prosperous relationship with one of India’s most reputable academies.”

“This MOU will allow us to increase the number of our Master’s programme students,” said Pradeep Sharma. “Many of these students may also stay longer to do their PhD.”

Last year, UH’s Andy & Barbara Gessner College of Nursing also supported the MGM Institute of Health Science in Mumbai and Krisna Institute of Medical Sciences in developing a Doctor of Nursing Practice program at both universities.
