UK Invites Indian Applicants for 2025 Young Professionals Scheme
The UK Government has undertaken the application process for the UK-India Young Professionals Scheme 2025. This scheme permits residents and Indians to live, study, travel, and work for two years in both the UK and India.
Indian nationals aged between 18-30 can apply through the ballot process at the UK Government's official website for one of the 3000 spots available under the scheme. The ballot is open from February 18 to February 20, starting at 2:30 PM (Indian Standard Time) on both days.
Those selected will be randomly chosen by the concerned authorities. Those under the Youth Mobility Scheme visa will not be chosen. For an applicant to be eligible, they must be aged 18 years or over on the travel date to the UK.
An applicant must have a minimum of £2,530 which is Rs 2,70,824 (approx) in savings as part of his/her self-support in the UK and the respective candidates must not have any children under 18 living with them or to whom they are financially responsible, must be qualified for a UK bachelor's degree level or above and should be between 18-30.
Email notifications regarding the outcome of applicants will be sent within two weeks from the date of the closing of the ballot. Successful applicants can formally apply for a visa within 90 days, paying fees as applicable, plus biometrics and the immigration health surcharge.
Proof of maintenance funds is 28 consecutive days, ending on the last day within the 31 days when the application is made. Participants are required to leave for India at the end of two years. Over 2100 YPS visas were awarded to Indian nationals in the year 2023.
