Slovenia Offers 2025-26 Scholarships for Indian Students: Apply by June 30

The Republic of Slovenia is encouraging Indian students to submit applications for scholarships for the 2025-26 academic year, which are offered for short-term mobility programmes. These scholarships, applicable from 1 October 2025 to 30 September 2026, can be granted for a maximum period of 10 months.

The Centre of the Republic of Slovenia for Mobility and European Educational and Training Programmes (CMEPIUS) will manage the application and assessment procedures. Interested candidates can access all necessary information, such as the application form and eligibility requirements, on the official Study in Slovenia website, studyinslovenia. The deadline for applications is June 30, 2025.

This scholarship program is available for university/college students, graduates, and PhD candidates who want to carry out a portion of their studies or research at a Slovenian higher education institution. It should be noted that these scholarships do not apply to complete degree programs.

The maximum age for applicants is 26 years for study stays (must not turn 26 before the scholarship period ends) and 30 years for research visits. Candidates for study stays must show knowledge of Slovene, unless an alternative arrangement is made with the mentor or supervisor.

The scholarship package offers a monthly allowance of 400 EUR (which may be reviewed and adjusted periodically), free accommodation in student dorms (financed by CMEPIUS), subsidized meals through the Student Organisation of Slovenia, and basic health insurance for non-EU applicants (supplied by CMEPIUS if there is no health insurance agreement between Slovenia and the applicant's home nation).

The Government of India’s Ministry of Education does not participate in the nomination or selection process; the donor country, Slovenia, makes the final decisions.
