Ohio University Crafts Virtual Platform for India-US Collaborative R&D
According to an American Senator, a US institution in Ohio has obtained a grant of USD 78,000 to establish a virtual platform for research and development of collaborative India-US initiatives.
The National Science Foundation (NSF) will support the initiative, which will be created by Case Western Reserve University.
How Will This Virtual Platform Help Academia?
According to a press release, once completed, the virtual platform will promote partnerships in cutting-edge sectors, assisting in the acceleration of research and innovation, the advancement of science's frontiers, and the strengthening of engagement between the world's two largest democracies.
"Research in science and technology is critical to create jobs and improve our economy. We unleash more American innovation when everyone is able to participate and we nurture all Ohio talent," Senator Sherrod Brown said, as per PTI.
Reducing Research Talent Loss
Brown has cosponsored the Supporting Early Career Researchers Act, which calls on the National Science Foundation to launch a two-year pilot programme to provide funds to highly qualified early-career investigators at independent and higher education research institutes. This will assist in reducing research talent loss owing to employment market interruptions induced by the coronavirus pandemic.
