Council for Higher Education of Israel Announces Study in Israel Virtual Showcase for Indian students on March 7th

The global higher education sector has demonstrated resilience during the challenging period of COVID-19. In Israel, the Council for Higher Education together with all Israeli universities and institutes have invested significant energy to prevent the pandemic from disrupting education and to enable students to continue to engage in excellence. Efforts have been focused on ensuring that studying in Israel remains accessible, welcoming, and safe for international students and researchers.

In this respect, the Council for Higher Education of Israel is organising a virtual fair for potential international students who are interested in furthering their education and looking for the best academic program for them.  Scheduled on 7thMarch 2021, the virtual fair aims to provide potential students the opportunity to learn about the distinctive and engaged approach to education that Israel offers its students and to speak directly to university and college representatives about their options. Information will be shared about the various programs, fields of study and institutions in Israel.

Marissa Gross Yarm, Head of International Student Affairs, Council for Higher Education, Israel, said, “The Study in Israel Virtual Fair aims to be a highly interactive experience. The fair is the perfect opportunity for students to interact with representatives from Israeli academic institutions, as well as current Indian students from various Israeli universities, to learn about the programs offered, scholarships and financial aid available, student experience, safety, visa processes and other travel and Covid safety information.”

Israel has a total of 61higher education institutions, including nine world-class universities, 32 colleges, and 21 teacher training colleges. Out of the nine universities in Israel, seven were featured in the 2020 U.S. News Best Global Universities rankings. The universities offer hundreds of Bachelors, Masters, PhD and short-term courses in English.

The country is currently home to over 1200 Indian students and has been actively encouraging students from India to Study in Israel. Even during the pandemic, Israel issued student visas and enabled international students to commence their studies in the beginning of the 2020-2021 academic year. A special chartered flight from Mumbai to Tel Aviv brought 100 returning and new PhD and postdoctoral researchers at all eight research universities in Israel during the pandemic. International students in Israel, Indians included, are also currently benefiting from the country’s rigorous vaccine drive.

This virtual fair will help participants gather knowledge about opportunities that Israel offers by attending detailed webinars, info sessions, initiating live chats with university representatives and receiving advice from the Council of Higher Education.
