India has over 650 universities. Over the years there has been a sharp rise in the number of private universities being established in the country. Despite the number of private universities exceeding 200, majority of them are not well established. While there are millions of students who are studying in various institutions affiliated to these private universities it is difficult for the upcoming students to navigate through the huge barrage of private universities and join the best. The private universities in India vary in various aspects. While some of the universities who are well established are focused on research and global standards, there are others who are simply focused on filling seats and getting the huge sums of money for the sub standard education they provide to the naïve students.
