Established in 1998, the college boasts of six engineering departments that offer B.Tech programs across twelve different disciplines. Additionally, the institution is recognized for its postgraduate courses in Computer Application (MCA) and M.Tech programs across four engineering disciplines.

These collaborative ventures include the Industrial Robotic Training Centre in conjunction with Kuka Robotics, the Centre of Competence in Automation Technologies in partnership with Bosch Rexroth, the LabVIEW Academy in collaboration with National Instruments, the Product Life Cycle Management (PLM) Centre in association with SIEMENS, the Drives & Control Lab in coordination with Mitsubishi Electric, the Industrial Pneumatic Knowledge Centre with Janatics India, and a Competency Development Centre in Integrated Automation, which involves collaboration with the Automation Industries Association and industry partners such as Pepperl & Fuchs, B&R, Festo, and Siemens.
The primary goal of these centers is to provide training in cutting-edge, interdisciplinary technologies relevant to industry, thereby bridging the gap between academic curriculum and industry requirements. Additionally, these centers actively support research initiatives and offer industrial consultancy services.
To extend the reach of these facilities and align their objectives with the `Skill India Mission', AKGEC has established the AKGEC Skills Foundation as a funded training partner of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). Under this program, the Advance Welding Technology and Advance Manufacturing Centre have been established. Furthermore, AKGEC has received approval under the `One District One Product' (ODOP) scheme of the Uttar Pradesh State Government to establish a Common Facility Centre for Engineering Goods Manufacturing industries in the region.
