Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, launched Skill India Digital (SID) on Sept 12, a digital platform aimed at synchronising and transforming India's skills, education, employment, and entrepreneurship landscape.

SID is India's digital public infrastructure (DPI) for skilling, education, employment, and entrepreneurship. The platform's vision is to make skill development more innovative, accessible, and personalised in its implementation, with a focus on digital technology and industry 4.0 skills. It aspires to be a game changer in terms of accelerating skilled talent hiring as well as facilitating lifelong learning and career advancement.

It will also serve as a one-stop shop for all government skilling and entrepreneurship initiatives.

"MSDE has developed an open-source platform to meet the skilling needs of India's diverse population." Skill India Digital is another step towards realising our demographic dividend and establishing India as a global talent hub. Skill India Digital, a revolution in learning and skill development, will enable skilling for all, anywhere, and at any time," said Pradhan.
