UGC Releases Norms For UG Courses

newsThe curriculum and credit will provide an innovative and flexible higher education system for students. UGC has developed this curriculum with a credit framework for undergraduate programmes. All the Higher Educational institutes have been advised by UGC to take necessary measures to adapt the curriculum.  UGC has declared a curriculum and credit framework for the Undergraduate programmes yesterday, December 12, 2022.

Keeping in view of NEP's recommendation, the UGC has revised the CBCS and developed a curriculum and credit framework for Undergraduate programmes. For more details, visit the official website of UGC.  

  • More focus on holistic and multidisciplinary undergraduate education  

  • Flexible curricular structure. Multiple entry-exit allowed and re-entry options

  • UG certificate after completing 1 year (2 semesters)  

  • UG Diploma after 2 years (4 semesters) 

Bachelor's Degree After 3 Years (6 semesters) 

  • Bachelor's Degree (Honours) after 4 years  

  • 4th year will be mainly for research-based learning  

  • Inclusion of credit-based courses and projects in community engagements and services, Environmental education, and value-based education  

  • Students are to be provided with the opportunity for internships with local industry  

  • Flexibility to move from one discipline to another
