Statewide Youth Exchange Program Now Commences

The Meghalaya State Level Youth sharing Program has begun, with over 650 young talents from all 12 districts gathering for a week of cultural engagement, idea sharing, learning, and talent presentation. The program, which is slated to take place from the 16th to the 20th of October 2023, is supported and organized by the Government of Meghalaya's Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs. It promises to be an unforgettable and enriching event for the young people who take part. 

Smti. R. Kurbah, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills, was the Chief Guest at the inaugural event, which was held at the Convocation Hall, NEHU Campus, Mawkynroh, and Shillong. The Chief Guest expressed her admiration for the state's youth's extraordinary potential. She encouraged the young participants to be open-minded and to take advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn from one another, enjoy their varied cultures, and build life skills for overall development. Shri P.B War Nongbri, Assistant Director Sports & Youth Affairs, Smti. A. Swer, former State Secretary Bharat Scout & Guides, Shri Atul J. Nikam, State Director NYK, Shri F. Rumnong, State NSS Officer, District Sports Officers, and Shri G.E Lyngdoh, Ex DSO are also present.

The State Level Youth Exchange Program is intended to develop a sense of togetherness and camaraderie among young people from all origins and areas throughout Meghalaya. This week-long event will allow them to interact, share their experiences, and showcase their wonderful abilities.

Folk Song and Folk Dance Competitions, Guitar & Flute Competition, Debate and Extempore Speech, One Act Play: Theme "Mission Life", Talent Hunt, and Adventure Activities will be among the activities available to participants.
