SEBI Launches Certification Courses on AML & Terrorism Financing
Two determined courses has been introduced on Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Combating the Financing of Terrorism (CFT) by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) for market facilitators. These courses aim to set up a baseline knowledge benchmark for employees and affiliated professionals, covering key concepts related to AML and CFT, provisions under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), PML rules, and scheduled offenses under the SEBI Act and the Companies Act.
According to SEBI’s statement, the initiative is designed to improve awareness of AML standards, CFT regulations, and proliferation financing guidelines between market entities. The authority has been actively organising programs to boost the capital market’s compliance framework, ensuring that securities market intermediaries are well-equipped to navigate evolving regulatory requirements.
The course titled “AML and CFT Provisions in Securities Market Certification Examination” has been designed by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) working together with the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM)
A certification with a reliability of three years is provided to those who pass the exam. A passing certificate will be issued only to those candidates who have furnished or updated their PAN in their registration details. The examination consists of 50 questions of one mark each that a candidate should complete in 60 minutes. The passing percentage for the examination is 50%, and there is no negative marking.
