Rajasthan To Open About 2,700 Goverment-aided English Medium Schools, says education minister

The Rajasthan government plans to open more than 2,000 government-aided English medium schools in the state in the coming days, education minister BD Kalla said at a later this week ceremony in Jaipur.

"The quality of government schools in the state is constantly improving as a result of the state government's continuous initiative, efforts, and educational innovations in the field of school education." The state government has established over 2,700 English medium schools. "We plan to open 2,000 more such schools in the coming days," Kalla stated.

During this event, Kalla held an online lottery to accept kids to the state's 32,722 non-government schools under the Right To Education (RTE) scheme.

In these private schools, 25% of the total seats are allotted under the RTE plan for kids in pre-primary to Class-1. The state government is covering these pupils' tuition costs.

“Parents can see the school-wise priority list issued by the lottery by clicking on the link of ‘Preference List’ on the home page of the private school portal https://rajpsp.nic.in, Since 2012-2013, more than nine lakh students of the state got direct benefit of this scheme,” stated a government press release.
Reacting to the lottery conducted on Friday, members of guardians’ associations the stated, only a section of the students would be able to avail this scheme.

“The government had conducted lottery for around 2 lakh seats at 37,354 non-government schools. However, the number of students applied for this scheme is more than two-and-half times the number of available seats," said, Abhishek Jain Bittu - the state spokesperson of United Guardian Association.
