PM Modi Addresses Smart India Hackathon 2022 Grand Finale Which Begins Today
From August 25 to August 29, the Smart India Hackathon 2022 grand will be conducted. The Honorable Prime Minister of India Sri Narendra Modi will be addressing the participants via video conferencing at 8 PM today. SIH, which is a renowned nationwide initiative will provide students a platform for solving some of the pressing problems encountered in our daily lives aiming to inculcate a culture of product innovation and a mindset of problem-solving.
Smart India Hackathon 2022, comprising more than 15,000 students will be participating in the 2022 SIH grand finale at the national level. The teams will be traveling to the assigned nodal centers and will be working on the problem statements during the grand finale of SIH 2022.
Smart India Hackathon 2022 will conduct the hackathon in two formats which include the SIH Software edition and the SIH Hardware edition for higher education students. SIH hardware grand finale is scheduled from August 25 to 29 and the software grand finale is scheduled from August 25 to 26.
Each hackathon problem statement will award a winning amount of INR One Lakh and the winning teams under the student innovation category will be awarded three prizes of INR One Lakh, INR Seventy-Five Thousand, and INR Fifty Thousand.
Smart India Hackathon registration has increased fourfold from around Seven Thousand Five Hundred in the first edition to around Twenty-Nine Thousand Six hundred in the current fifth edition.
Students from more than Two Thousand Nine Hundred and Two Thousand Two Hundred higher education institutions will be tackling 476 problem statements from 53 Union ministries in the finale which include optical character recognition (OCR) of temple inscriptions and translations in Devanagari scripts, IoT-enabled risk monitoring system in the cold supply chain for perishable food items, high-resolution 3D model of terrain, and infrastructure and roads condition in the disaster struck areas.
