NMIMS Maintains Position among Top 50 Management Institutes of India: NIRF 2023
The Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), which has been in the news for allegedly breaking distance learning rules, is still ranked among the top 50 management schools in the nation as of Monday, according to the National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2023, which was released by the Ministry of Education.
The NMIMS is ranked 88 overall, 21 among management institutes, and 47 among the top 100 universities. It is ranked eleventh among institutions of pharmacy. In the category of national management institutes, NMIMS came in at number 25 the previous year.
The recent NIRF ranking, in which NMIMS is listed among the top 50 institutes in the nation, highlights the university's exceptional performance, according to Dr. Ramesh Bhat, vice chancellor of NMIMS. Our improved overall ranking is a result of our unrelenting pursuit of academic excellence, partnerships with businesses, and comprehensive student development.
The impressive rise of our School of Business Management (SBM) by four notches to reach the 21st position, he continued, "demonstrates our commitment to providing a top-notch management education. The Pharmacy School's consistent ranking of 11 for the past two years is a testament to the faculty's commitment and the calibre of the education they have provided.
The popular management institute from the city was recently under the spotlight after it was barred by the University Grants Commission (UGC) from offering distance learning and online programmes due to violation of norms. The notice issued by the UGC in April stated that NMIMS has not adhered to UGC regulations resulting in gross violations with regard to the functioning of the centre for internal quality assurance (CIQA), quality of self learning material and e-learning material (e-LM), nomenclature of Centre for Distance and Online Learning.
