Meghalaya CM launches CM IMPACT initiative to improve education outcomes
Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has launched CM IMPACT in Meghalaya to help students, teachers, and parents improve the low pass percentage. CM Sangma introduced CM IMPACT in the Garo Hills region on Thursday with Education Minister Rakkam A Sangma also in attendance.
The education department will offer a detailed handbook for students and teachers as part of the education program, which will also be available as a mobile application with frequent updates. Furthermore, intranet connectivity will be set up on a block-by-block basis to improve accessibility.
During the inauguration, Chief Minister Sangma highlighted the significance of working together with all stakeholders to tackle educational obstacles efficiently. He recognized the issue's complexity but remained hopeful about enhancing it with systematic planning and goal-directed strategies.
“We have a long drawn plan to improve our quality of education. The objective is to improve the quality as well as the pass percentage,” the chief minister stated.
He encouraged teachers to pinpoint students' weaknesses, get students ready for tests, and focus on enhancing their grades. He also mentioned that authorities have agreed to hold a supplementary exam within 2 months of the release of secondary results, giving students a chance to pass without wasting a year.
