Lovely Professional University (LPU) has been ranked 38th among all government and private universities in India, according to the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) rankings 2023 released by Minister of State for Education and External Affairs Rajkumar Ranjan Singh in New Delhi. This year, the LPU climbed nine places to 38th place.

LPU's three schools, which include architecture, law, and pharmacy, are in the top 20 in India and among the top two in the state for research in architecture. LPU is also ranked first in Punjab for management and law, and third for pharmacy, agriculture, and allied industries, as well as being a university.

LPU's architecture and law schools are both ranked 16th; pharmacy is 17th; agriculture is 27th; management is 32nd; research is 42nd; and engineering is in the top 50 universities in the country. Chancellor Dr Ashok Kumar Mittal stated that the ranking has served as a great source of inspiration for all varsity teams.

Meanwhile, the Dr. BR Ambedkar National Institute of Technology Jalandhar (NIT-J) has been ranked 46th in 'engineering ranking' and 72nd in 'overall ranking' among the country's top institutions. NITJ is ranked tenth among all NITs and second among NITs in the country's northern area.

NIT Jalandhar was put in a ranking range of 11-50 in another ranking announced on the same day, the Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA) ranking, which is yet another amazing achievement for the institute. Prof Binod Kumar Kanaujia, director of the institute, stated that steps such as inducting faculty from top-ranked institutions/universities, improving faculty to student ratios, and increasing infrastructure and research facilities that increased quality research publications, citations, and external sponsorship all contributed to the institute's improved ranking. Binod Kumar Kanaujia, the institute's director, emphasised the institute's outstanding increase in research achievements this year.
