Karnataka Government Formulate Education Policy for Job Opportunities

Karnataka higher education minister MC Sudhakar announced that the state's education policy will be "inclusive and fosters rural and secular values ​​by creating job opportunities for students. The Congress government recently constituted an expert committee to formulate an education policy for the state of Karnataka. In an interview with PTI Asian Education and Skills Summit, Minister Sudhakar mentioned that the government has constituted a comprehensive committee headed by former UGC chairman Professor Sukhdev Thorat.

We created an important committee for both primary and higher education. We have set a deadline of February 28, 2024 for them to report. They begin their work and the policies they propose are inclusive, preserving the land and secular values, Sudhakar said. We cannot afford to infuse the education system with certain ideological issues that we currently face in politics. Students and graduates should be free from all these problems, he said.

He said that the commission has been given certain conditions to frame the policy. We hope for a very inclusive policy that will be very well received by many other countries in the future. at the end of the day, our goal is to create employability at the end of the day. Our agenda is primarily to create employability as much as possible, said the minister.

Prime Minister Siddaramaiah attacked the National Education Policy (NEP) in his Budget speech to the Legislative Assembly in July, saying it was incompatible with the federal system and contained several anomalies that undermined the Constitution and democracy. Siddaramaiah said that the Karnataka government will frame a new education policy while preserving the local social, cultural and economic environment of the state.
