Karnataka Education Department to Revamp Curriculum for 2023-2024

The Karnataka Department of School Education and Literacy has formed five committees to revise state curriculum textbooks for the school year 2023-24.

These committees must review Kannada's first, second, and third language textbooks, as well as social science textbooks, in accordance with the National Curriculum Framework-2005 guidelines.

Dr. Manjunath G Hegde, a retired principal from Kumta in Uttara Kannada district, was also named chief convenor by the government.

The 10-member committee led by Dr Anjanappa from Tirthahalli in Shivamogga will examine Kannada first-language textbooks from class one to ten, while another 10-member committee chaired by Dr H S Satyanarayan will examine Kannada second-language textbooks from class one to ten.

Dr. Manjanna's third committee of four members will be in charge of revising Kannada third-language textbooks for classes nine and ten. The revision of social science textbooks for classes six and seven has been assigned to a seven-member committee led by Dr. Kiran M.

Dr. Ashwathanarayana's fifth committee will revise social science textbooks for classes eight, nine, and ten.
