IRCTC Rolls out "College on Wheels" Initiative

IRCTC has joined forces with the Higher Education Council J&K Government to implement an innovative and one-of-a-kind project known as "College on Wheels." The educational journey began on November 19 at the Katra Station, with the LG UT of J&K, Manoj Sinha, flagging it off.

The launch of the "J&K GYANODAYA Express" is aimed at expanding the scope of education and transcending geographical limitations.

This project is designed to empower students by providing them with practical knowledge of the world beyond the classroom. It is an innovative approach to comprehensive student empowerment. This will provide students with the chance to engage with the outside world, discover our country's cultural heritage, comprehend local issues, and build stronger connections with each other, fostering camaraderie and understanding. The project will help in nation-building by instilling students with a sense of pride in the Centres of Excellence, such as the Indian Navy, Indian Space Research Organisation, and Sabarmati Ashram, among others.

The train travels, and destinations have been carefully selected to give students a glimpse into the life of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation. The idea behind GYANODAYA is drawn from the life of Mahatma Gandhi, who embarked on numerous significant train journeys that revolutionized his perspective on life.
