India's TVET Focuses on Green Energy and Tech Skill Development

India's TVET system has played a vital role in developing a skilled workforce by synchronizing training frameworks with international standards. The training programs address both emerging fields such as green energy, digital technologies, and sustainable solutions, as well as traditional sectors including construction, manufacturing, and healthcare.

“With immense potential for collaboration in sectors like agriculture, manufacturing, and tourism, we are certain that the delegation’s visits to NCVET, DGT, and Kerala will provide valuable insights into India’s skilling ecosystem,” Shri Tiwari stated, adding that “guided by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision for the Global South, we remain committed to supporting Tanzania” in building a future where for our youths.

For advancing collaboration among Global South, India and Tanzania have joined hands for the empowerment and skilling of youths of both the nations, Secretary of, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Shri Atul Kumar Tiwari, stated, welcoming a Tanzanian delegation led by Permanent Secretary Carolyne Nombo.

The establishment of IIT Madras’ inaugural global campus in Zanzibar in 2023, providing advanced courses in AI and ocean structures, reflects our collective dedication to empowering young people through strong TVET frameworks.

India ranks as one of the preferred destinations for higher education for students from Tanzania. Numerous Tanzanian students are pursuing their studies in India through self-financing schemes, ICCR, and Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) program scholarships provided by the Government of India.
